Personnel Components of a Resettlement Team

Co-Team Leaders: provides overall coordination and direction for the Team; assigns tasks to various team coordinators; shares information with assigned Case Manager and Volunteer Services Coordinator; ensures that all coordinators timely report assignment outcomes and service needs; reviews all information received by Communications Coordinator; convenes meeting/socials; keeps team members informed of developments; primary contact with CFC contact persons; primary responsibility for communication with congregation, media and community service providers

Communication Coordinator: via e-mail and telephone, facilitates timely team communications; receives from & disseminates to team members information/reports relative to assigned/completed tasks, planned/implemented activities, individual contacts with refugee family (case notes); assists Team Leaders with the preparation of reports/bulletins/press releases

Finance Coordinator: oversees fundraising activities, financial liaison with parish, and expenditures made on behalf of refugee case; monitors and collects all financial donations to refugee case; receipts direct assistance payments for refugee case; assists in the preparation & monitoring of individual case budgets and recommends line item changes; ensures that budgets are carefully and fully discussed by with refugee head-of-household; ensures bills are paid and team members reimbursed for authorized expenditures; timely reports fundraising and expenditures to Team Leader

Medical Coordinator: with assistance of assigned “medical” team members, ensures that refugees are timely screened and that all medical and dental follow-up appointments are timely arranged; timely informs Communication Coordinator and Co-Team Leaders of medical, dental & mental health appointments, assignments, assignment outcomes and problems/concerns

Housing Coordinator: publicizes housing needs (furniture, apparel, personal items, etc) and arranges for collection/purchase/delivery/stocking/setup of household furnishings, personal items and clothing; ensures that housing fully complies with State Department Guidelines and is locally “up to code”; with assistance of Housing Monitors, ensures that housekeeping/personal hygiene trainings are timely and properly conducted as needed & that lessons are properly applied, and that required reports are completed and submitted thru Co-Team Leaders to the CFC Housing Monitor; monitors all aspects of housing-related issues/concerns; ensures sufficient supply of food and personal items; negotiates with landlords and housing-related service providers as needed; educates refugees with respect to tenant rights/responsibilities; timely shares all developments with Communications Coordinator and Tm Leaders.

Housekeeping/Hygiene Monitors: assigned to Housing segment, provide initial and follow-up in-home housekeeping and personal hygiene trainings to ensure the highest possible housekeeping and personal hygiene standards; monitor housing’s compliance with State Department Guidelines; complete reports and submit same thru Housing Coordinator, Co-Team Leader to CFC Housing Monitor; timely report developments to Housing Coordinator; ensure housing is safe and habitable (smoke alarms, locks & windows operational).

Education Coordinator: with assistance of assigned Tutors and other Companions, ensures that adults and children are enrolled in ESL, public school respectively; timely shares all education-related information with Communications Coordinator and Co-Team Leaders; assists refugees with drivers’ permits/licenses, driver’s training, procuring insurance; procures bus passes and trains refugees in the use of RTS.

In-Home Tutors: assigned to Education segment, provide in-home tutoring, orientation; report daily to Education Coordinator

 

Recreation Coordinator: with assistance of non-tutoring Companions, recommends and assists in the planning, organization and facilitation of recreational, community/cultural orientation, socialization and networking activities; timely shares all information with Communications Coordinator

Companions: assigned to either the Education or Recreation Coordinator, provide unstructured in-home visitations, friendship, orientation; help facilitate & participate in recreational/orientation activities; provide in-home tutoring; monitor overall condition of refugee family; assist with marketing; routinely orient refugees in proper use of appliances, and provide whatever on-the-spot advice and direction as may be necessary

Employment Coordinator: in close coordination with Tm Leader, assigned CFC Case Manager and Volunteer Services Coordinator, facilitates job searches, completes job applications; escorts client on first day of work; familiarizes client with bus routes to and from work site; provides job orientation to refugee employables in case; monitors client attitude and helps to remove obstacles to full employment. All activities must be closely and continuously coordinated with Team Leaders and assigned CFC Case Manager; timely shares all employment-related information with Communications Coordinator

Daytime Driver: on-call during weekday hours to provide transportation services requested by Tm Leaders and Coordinators

After Hour Driver: on-call during evenings and weekends to provide transportation services requested by Team Leaders and Coordinators
